Zwilling J.A. Henckels company was founded in 1731 in Solingen, Germany. Their Kramer line of high-carbon steel knives were licensed by Master Bladesmith Bob Kramer of Bellingham, Washington, to be handcrafted in Japan by Zwilling J.A. Henckels. Bob Kramer is one of the few Master Bladesmiths in the world specializing in kitchen cutlery. These knives are made by artisans in Seki City, Japan, the capital of Japanese knife-making since the 13th century.
